On July 14 the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) established a set of commitments “that will ensure the exclusively peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program and the comprehensive lifting of all sanctions”, paving the way for a total normalization of relations with the West. A normalization that, as the agreement is implemented and sanctions lifted, is to span into other areas such as trade and investment.
