Organization Description
Ambasel Trading House Plc is a 100% locally owned company established in November 1993 under the umbrella of a development organization known as Tiret, (which means endowment and is owned by Amhara Region people). The company is headquartered in Ethiopia’s capital city, Addis Ababa.

Ambasel Trading House is one of the leading players in import-export - wholesale distribution and business representation in the nation, established in November 1994 under the commercial code of Ethiopia. The company also is engaged in the distribution of goods produced by domestic industries.

Exports
The company has wonderful business linkages with buyers of agricultural products in Europe, the Middle East, China, Japan, the USA, India and other countries. The company’s export range includes coffee arabica, oil seeds (sesame seeds, tahini paste and peeled sesame and Niger seeds), spices (ginger, turmeric, and cumin seed), pulses (haricot beans & chick peas) and gum olibanum.
It has well-organized infrastructure for exporting commodity processing and preparation of commodities in excellent quality, abiding to the commitments of the contracts and delivering within the shipment period. These are some of the key values of the company.
Our company has been able to win national and international awards as best exporter, which has helped it gain the trust and confidence of its esteemed customers. It has been generating large foreign currency amounts for the country in its exports, and has been awarded for ranking 1st – 3rd for a number of times.
Imports
The major import items include:
• Supply of both imported and locally produced materials and inputs to the agricultural, industrial, transport and trade sectors – which includes technological materials, such as irrigation materials, water pumps, hoses, walking tractors and agricultural tools, like suckles, machetes, fork and different machineries for the agricultural sector, in line with the current government policies and strategies to enhance the development of the sector.
• Chemicals such as pesticides (insecticides, herbicides and fungicides), knapsack sprayers, irrigation machines, water pumps, cash registers, generators, agricultural hand tools (spanish sickles (lapajarita), machetes, etc.) accessories, water harvesting materials (HDPE), and others.
